We are one day closer to the coming of the one who God promised will return, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! Keep looking up!

“Paul, a servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ, for the sake of the faith of God’s elect and their knowledge of the truth, which accords with godliness, in hope of eternal life, which God, who never lies, promised before the ages began and at the proper time manifested in his word through the preaching with which I have been entrusted by the command of God our Savior.” – Titus 1:1-3

In the Book of Genesis, we find the familiar first words, “In the beginning.” In Hebrew, these three words are recorded as “Berisheet”. However, the word Berisheet was written in a picture script, or pictographs, with each “letter” telling a story. The amazing thing is the story in the word Berisheet, is the story Paul is talking about in our passage today, the “hope of eternal life, which God, who never lies, promised before the ages began”. That “hope” is the gospel story that tells us of the death, burial, and resurrection of our Savior. And it’s in the very first words of the Bible. Amazing!

We are one day closer to the return of the One who will reward us at His coming, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! Keep looking up!

“Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” – 2 Timothy 2:15

What a true blessing it is to know there is NOTHING we can do to earn our salvation. As Paul says, “It is the gift of God” (Ephesians 2:8). But once we have received that gift of salvation, God’s word makes it clear that we have some work to do. “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them” (Ephesian 2:10). Part of that work, as Paul says, is “rightly dividing the word of truth”. Paul was a tentmaker by trade, and the term “rightly dividing” means: to cut straight, so the pieces fit together correctly. I think Paul is trying to tell us, we need to know the word of God so that we don’t have gaps in our tents! So keep up the good work, family. The One we are working for is coming soon!

We are one day closer to the return of the One who is coming to take us home, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! Keep looking up!

“So all the days of Enoch were three hundred and sixty-five years. And Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him.” – Genesis 5:23-24

The only thing we can learn from this passage as to why the Lord “took him”, is that “Enoch walked with God”. I’m sure we all understand that this is not simply talking about a stroll in the park. In his letter to the Ephesians, Paul says “we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should WALK in them” (2:10), and he says we should, “WALK worthy of the calling with which you were called” (4:1) [Emphasis added]. In fact, he uses the word “walk” in almost all his letters to describe our lives as believers in Christ. So, how is YOUR walk? The day will be here soon for the Lord to come and take us, like He did for Enoch. I hope He finds us all walking “with” Him!

Lord, may we all be found walking with You on the day of your glorious coming! AMEN!

We are one day closer to the coming of the One who is the Light of the world, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! Keep looking up!

“But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness.” – 1 Thessalonians 5:4-5

This is certainly an encouraging passage for the Body of Christ, knowing the times in which we are living. Because of our new life in Jesus, we have the promise that these dark days will not “overtake” us, and we will be saved from the “sudden destruction” coming “like a thief in the night” (vs. 2-3). But that is not true for those who have not trusted in the Lord as their Savior, and are still wandering in the darkness. For them, the Day of the Lord will come like a thief, and “as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape” (v.3). Let’s remember, God has given us the “light of life” (John 8:12), and we have the opportunity to shine it on others, that they, too, may escape from the darkness.

Lord, help each one of us be Your light in the world, on our Mission every day! God bless you all!

We are one day closer to the coming of the One who is our strength and power, the Lord Jesus Christ! Keep looking up!

“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.” – Ephesians 6:10-13

There can be no doubt about it, we are living in some pretty “evil” days. But God has not left us unprotected. He has given us His armor. Unlike David, who couldn’t put on the huge, bulky armor he was given to fight Goliath, our armor is custom made by the Lord Himself! It is spiritual armor that gives us strength, power, and the ability to stand against anything our enemy, the devil, may throw at us. And it is “put on” when we take the time every day to be with the One who made it for us. Don’t let your armor sit on the shelf. Let the Word of God equip you for what ever may come your way. “For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God” (1 Corinthians 1:18).

We are definitely one day closer to the coming of our great God and Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ! Keep looking up!

“For the Father judges no one, but has committed all judgment to the Son, that all should honor the Son just as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him.” – John 5:22-23

Just in the last week we have witnessed how far man will go to turn away from the Lord. Man has now “created” an “artificial intelligence Jesus”! And if that wasn’t bad enough, they also are working on rewriting the Bible with an AI computer program, to come up with a new religion that is, to quote them, “actually correct”! As Indiana Jones would say, “They don’t know what they’ve got there.” I believe they have crossed the line. God will not let this go much longer, for He has said, “I am the LORD; that is My name! I will not yield My glory to another or My praise to idols” (Isaiah 42:8). We will have to wait and see what the Lord will do. But there is one thing that is absolutely certain: we ARE one day closer to the coming of our Savior!

We are one day closer to the coming of the One who is the bread of life, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! Keep looking up!

Have you ever been so hungry or thirsty that almost anything sounded good? So you go to the refrigerator, and you desperately look for ANYTHING to satisfy your pang. But if you don’t open the door to look inside, you will never be filled.

Do you ever hunger or thirst for the things of God? Jesus said, “Blessed are they that hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled” (Matthew 5:6). Job knew what that meant, for he said, “I have treasured the words of His mouth more than my necessary food” (Job 23:12). We have been given an abundant resource to satisfy our all spiritual needs. God’s Word. But if we want to be filled, we have to open it.

Lord, give us the hunger and thirst for Your Word, so we may be filled with You on our Mission every day! Amen.

We are one day closer to the coming of the One who is The First and The Last, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! Keep looking up!

“I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say, ‘My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.'” – Isaiah 46:10

All the recent activities in and around Israel, continue to show us that it is the center-ring of God’s attention in the world. No one should be surprised at this, because the prophecies of the Bible have told us that as we move closer to the time of Christ’s return, that area of the world will become God’s “cup of trembling” (Zechariah 12:2).

But do not fear! God is only setting the stage for His grand entrance. It’s all part of the script. Jesus said, “I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have peace. In this world you will have tribulation. But take heart! I have overcome the world” (John 16:33). The big question is, “When the movie is over, where will YOU be when the credits run?” And by the way, there is only ONE place where you can see the credits. In Heaven. The other place is total darkness.

Jesus said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life” (John 8:12). If you have yet to place your faith and trust in the death, burial, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, I urge you to do so today. Tomorrow may be too late!

Lord, thank You for the promise of Your return and for showing us the way to life! Grant us the wisdom and boldness to share the Gospel of Your grace and love on our Mission every day. Amen!

We are one day closer to the coming of the One who has removed all our sin forever, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! Keep looking up!

“For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.” – Psalm 103:11-12

There is a definite point that is “north” and another that is “south” on the globe, the North and South Poles. But there are NO such points for “east” and “west”. No matter how far you go to the east, you will NEVER arrive where west begins. The two do not meet. They will never meet and never could meet. When God says He removes our transgressions “as far as the east is from the west”, He is telling us He puts them where no one can ever find them. That is the gift of forgiveness God has offered to all. We must simply accept that gift in faith, and recognize Him as the giver.

Lord, thank You for the forgiveness You have given us through faith in Your Son, Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world. Amen!

We are one day closer to the coming of the One who promised to return for us, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! Keep looking up!

“If I go away and prepare a place for you, I will come back and receive you to Myself, so that where I am you may be also.” – John 14:3

Over 2,000 years ago, Jesus, the living Word of God in the flesh, came to earth (John 1:1; 14). Before leaving, He gave us a promise that He would return (John 14:3), and although we don’t know exactly when that will be, many things point to that happening soon. But Jesus also promised to reward all those who would do His will, and to those who have done so, they will hear Him say, “Well done, good and faithful servant” (Matthew 25:21). So let’s remain steadfast and continue to “abide in Him, so that when He appears we may be confident and unashamed before Him at His coming” (1 John 2:28).

Lord, we look forward to Your soon return. Help us to remain faithful in serving You and reaching out to others with the Good News of Your coming again! Amen!
