Nothing to Worry About?

In case you haven’t noticed, there are a lot of troubling things going on in the world, and the list is growing longer with each day. But what has the Lord told us?

“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.” – John 14:1-3

“For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words.” – 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18

And until that time comes, we “wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead—Jesus, who rescues us from the coming wrath.” – 1 Thessalonians 1:10

Do you ever wonder if this could be true? Well, what did you just read? What did Jesus say? If you “believe in God; believe also in me”! That’s the ONLY question that needs your honest answer. And if you say you believe, here is what you should know.

Jesus said there would be events that would precede His coming to “rescue” us, that would be like “birth pains” (Matthew 24:8), meaning, the closer the time comes, the more frequent these events will happen and with increasing intensity.

“Then he said to them: “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven.” – Luke 21:10-11

“And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.” – Luke 21:25-26

There are many other indicators recorded in God’s Word that reveal what is coming, and just like watching for the sun to come up, the Light is revealing more to us each day. You may not pay attention to what is going on everywhere in the world, but even with the little bit we do see, you can tell something is seriously going on. The most important thing to understand is, are you ready for Jesus to save YOU from what is yet to come?

“Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.” – Luke 21:28

If right now you’re asking, how can I be sure that I will be rescued from what will ultimately happen? The answer is, you know how, because the answer has been given to us! But just in case you’ve forgotten, here it is right from the source Himself.

” ‘The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart,’ that is, the message concerning faith that we proclaim: If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. As Scripture says, ‘Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.’ For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, for, ‘Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’ ” – Romans 10:8-13

If this describes you, then you truly have “nothing to worry about”. But if not, then please ask yourself, “What am I waiting for?”

“For he says, ‘In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you.’ I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation.” – 2 Corinthians 6:2

Your response can be as simple as Peter’s, “Lord, save me!” And he will.

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” – John 3:16-18

May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with you all on our Mission with Him every day. God bless!
