We are one day closer to the coming of the One who is our Rock, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! Keep looking up!

“But why do you call Me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do the things which I say? Whoever comes to Me, and hears My sayings and does them, I will show you whom he is like: He is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently against that house, and could not shake it, for it was founded on the rock. But he who heard and did nothing is like a man who built a house on the earth without a foundation, against which the stream beat vehemently; and immediately it fell. And the ruin of that house was great.” – Luke 6:46-49

When Jesus said, “Why do you call me Lord and don’t do what I say?”, He was emphasizing how important it is to actually put what we say we believe into practice. Those who do will be like a house built on a rock. Those who don’t, like a house with no foundation. Doing the will of God doesn’t just automatically happen after we’ve placed our faith in Jesus. We have to first learn what His will is, and then do it! Living in obedience to what the Lord says is not easy. It takes time and effort. But always remember, that when we are walking in obedience to His Word, He will always lead us on “level” and solid ground. The devil is pulling out all the stops in our world today to throw us off in our walk with God. Let’s not forget to remain steadfast in our devotion to the teachings of the One we call our “Lord”.

Father, fill us each day with Your Spirit, that we might do Your will by following Your Word, and walk on level ground. Amen!
