The Feast of Trumpets – Is Jesus Coming Then?

In a few days, on September 22nd-24th, the Jews around the world will be celebrating what they call the Feast of Trumpets, or Rosh Hashanah. For them, it is the celebration of their New Year Festival, which commemorates God’s creation of the world. It is also a time to make a fresh start in life, like our New Year’s resolutions.

To announce this festival, Jews will conduct the traditional blowing of the Shofar, a trumpet made from a ram’s horn that is blown 100 times. The final blast of the ram’s horn is known as the Last Trumpet and is the longest of the 100 blasts sounded.

Why Is This So Important?

For believers in Jesus Christ, this special feast could possibly hold great significance. Since Jesus fulfilled the first four of the seven Jewish feasts with His death at the Feast of Passover, His burial at the Feast of Unleaven Bread, His resurrection at the Feast of Firstfruits, and the coming of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost, many believe the Feast of Trumpets will be the next that He fulfills.

Many Christians look at the Feast of Trumpets as the time when Jesus will come to bring all who have put their faith in Him to their new home in heaven, as He promised in John 14.

“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also” (John 14:1-3). Did you catch that? Jesus is coming to “receive” us to Himself!

The Apostle Paul gives us vivid details of how this will happen in 1 Corinthians 15 and 1 Thessalonians 4.

“Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed—in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.” – 1 Corinthians 15:51-52

“For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.” – 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17

Could This Be The Time?

God’s Word promises all this to those who have trusted in Jesus as their Savior from our sin. He is the only One who can rescue us from the tribulation that we can see coming right around the corner.

So could this all happen when the Shofar sounds the “Last Trumpet” in a few days? It could. And if it does, talk about a “fresh start” in life! With everything that is happening in our crazy world today, a fresh start sounds pretty good to me.

But even if this isn’t the time, the most important question is, no matter when the day comes, will YOU be ready when the trumpet blows?

Here’s Your Invitation!

The only way you can take part when that day happens is by believing in what Jesus has done at the cross and putting your faith in His finished work for us. If you do that, the sounding of the Last Trumpet will announce the best day you could ever imagine! And He has invited everyone to take part! [Click Here for Your Wedding Invitation]

“For it is by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.” – Ephesians 2:8-9

If you have yet to trust in Jesus as your Savior, I pray you would accept His free gift of grace and join with us in the biggest celebration that will ever happen.

“Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God. For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” – 2 Corinthians 5:20-21

Ask Him to save you today. His answer is always “Yes” and “Amen!” (2 Corinthians 1:20). Trust in Him today and receive His blood-bought gift that lasts forever!

God bless!

When is Jesus Coming?

If the Rapture of the church happens before the start of the coming 7-year Tribulation, the time of “Jacob’s Trouble,” would this coming Feast of Trumpets be a good time for the Lord Jesus to return for all who are true believers in Him?

I think the answer to that question is a big YES! Here are my thoughts on the possibility of Jesus coming in September of 2025. The timeline below highlights what I will be explaining in this article. I want to make it clear from the start that this is just a possible scenario of how things may take place. The Lord commanded us to watch for His return (Mark 13:37), so these are simply some observations that I hope will be an encouragement to you as we wait and look for His coming. (Feel free to copy and print out the chart to use as the Lord may lead and share it with others.)

What Is Written Will Be Fulfilled!

When Jesus came to us 2000 years ago, He came to fulfill everything that was written about Him in God’s Word (Luke 24:44). And although all the prophecies of His birth and life were fulfilled just as foretold, the most important were the ones concerning the death, burial, resurrection, and return of Jesus. Especially since they are connected to the seven Jewish Feasts in Leviticus 23, which God commanded Israel to celebrate. These seven feasts will all find their fulfillment in Jesus Christ.

When He died on the cross, Jesus fulfilled the Feast of Passover as the Lamb of God whose shed blood, just like the blood put on the doorposts in Exodus 12:23, will save all who believe in His sacrifice for our sins. When He was in the tomb, He fulfilled the Feast of Unleavened Bread as the Bread of Life, hidden until the day He arose. And when the glorious Resurrection Day happened, He fulfilled the Feast of First Fruits, as the first of many to be gathered into the Father’s house, just as Jesus promised. And He fulfilled these first three feasts on the EXACT day they were celebrated.

Next came the Feast of Weeks (Pentecost). As Jesus promised, God sent His Holy Spirit in Acts 2. And from that day until now, God has been adding to His church daily, granting the gift of eternal life, by His Spirit and His grace, to all who will believe in His only begotten Son for the forgiveness of our sins, and bringing about the complete fulfillment of that amazing feast. For 2,000 years God has been graciously adding to His church. But this time of God’s amazing grace, or as some call it, “the church age,” which we are currently living in, is about to end, and the next feast is soon to take the world by surprise.

What Is Coming Next?

That next “feast” is known by quite a few names. The most familiar is the Feast of Trumpets. It is also known as Rosh Hashanah, or Yom Teruah (which means “the sound of a loud cry and a great shout”), and it begins the final three feasts Jesus will ultimately fulfill at His return. Some other interesting names for Rosh Hashanah are “The Hidden Day” and “The Day and Hour No Man Knows.” That’s because, although this feast had a set time, the actual start of the festivities was determined by the first sighting of the new moon by two people who were assigned to watch for it. So no one knew the exact day or hour. But once the two witnesses confirmed that the first sliver of the new moon was visible, the month of Tishri began—and thus, the celebration of the first fall feast would begin, and ushered in by the blowing of the trumpets to announce its arrival.

Most prophecy teachers believe Jesus will follow the pattern He began at His first coming by fulfilling the final 3 Jewish feasts, the Feast of Trumpets, the Feast of Atonement, and the Feast of Tabernacles, on the appointed day of their celebration, just as He did with the Feast of Passover, the Feast of Unleavened Bread, and the Feast of First Fruits. We can see that pattern lining up perfectly.

Could 2025 Be The Year?

This year the Feast of Trumpets will be celebrated on September the 22nd to the 24th. Could this be the year the Lord comes to begin the fulfillment of the final three feasts? If so, the Lord coming for His church, or what is commonly known as the Rapture (as described in 1 Thessalonian 4:15-18), could possibly happen on September 22nd, 23rd, or 24th. Only the Lord knows the day or the hour.

And it’s interesting that September 23rd will be exactly 8 years since the famous Revelation 12 sign appeared in the heavens (star constellations) on the Feast of Trumpets, September 23rd in 2017. Not to mention many other events that have occurred since then, showing us that God may have something special in store for that feast. Like the most recent 8.8 earthquake in Russia, along with the eruption of a massive volcano that has been dormant for 600 years. Also, the 80th session of the U.N. will be meeting on September 23rd (the same time as the Feast of Trumpets) to bring the two-state solution and dividing up of Israel to the table (see Joel 3:2). There are literally many events happening every day that point to the Lord’s soon return.

Now here is something to think about. We know the Bible teaches that the coming of the Lord actually happens in two parts, right? At the First Coming of Jesus, He came as the Lamb of God and the Suffering Servant, and at His Second Coming, He will return as the Lion of Judah and the King of Kings. And just like so many other fulfilled prophecies, is it POSSIBLE the fulfillment of the Feast of Trumpets will also have two parts? If this is true, Jesus could RAPTURE the church on this coming Feast of Trumpets in 2025 and then RETURN with the church seven years later to fulfill the Feast of Trumpets in 2032!

Why do I suggest that? Well, for one thing, when we read of the Rapture of the church, we see similar things that are also described at His Return. For instance, trumpets sounding, the presence of angels, the voice of God, and aspects of destruction that accompany both events. (You will see on my chart that I call the Rapture of the Church “The Feast of Trumpets – Part 1” and the Return of Jesus “The Feast of Trumpets – Part 2.”)

How It Could All Play Out!

If this is the way things might POSSIBLY work out, there are some very interesting details that would connect with it. Here’s a snapshot of how it could all play out. Following the Rapture at the Feast of Trumpets this September and the ensuing chaos that would surely follow, the signing of the Daniel 9:27 covenant by the coming “prince” (the Antichrist) could take place on the LAST DAY of the Feast of Tabernacles, October 13, 2025.

The Bible describes the Feast of Tabernacles, also known as Sukkot, as a seven-day harvest festival (celebrating the final, or last, harvest) and a commemoration of the Israelites’ 40 years in the wilderness, where they lived in temporary shelters (booths). It’s a time of rejoicing, offering sacrifices, and remembering God’s provision and protection. Can you see the irony here? When the Daniel 9:27 covenant is signed, Israel will be rejoicing and celebrating that “peace” has finally come. However, just the opposite will happen. “For when they say, ‘Peace and safety!’ then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape” (1 Thessalonians 5:3).

The Timing Is Perfect!

This signing will begin the time of Tribulation and the countdown to the return of Jesus to the earth 2520 days later! This is the remaining 7 years of 360 days each, mentioned in Daniel 9:27 and in the time-frame passages that we see in the book of Revelation. This countdown brings us exactly back to Rosh Hashanah on September 6th, 2032, the Feast of Trumpets, and the return of our King! (There’s also a special event for Israel that will occur exactly in the middle of these 7 years, which may tie in with the Antichrist being seated in the Temple at that time. See the asterisk note on the timeline chart.)

It’s noteworthy that at Rosh Hashanah, the Jews remember God as Judge and believe it is the day the Book of Life and heaven’s gates are opened. And it’s also very interesting that the day that would follow the beginning of the Tribulation, October 14th, 2025 (the first day after the Feast of Tabernacles), is known by the Jews as The Last Great Day. What better day to start God’s final plan to ultimately bring redemption to Israel and the whole world and to usher in His glorious Kingdom that will last 1,000 years and lead us into the Eternal Kingdom of God and a new heaven and new earth?

So, is this how it will all play out? We don’t know. But one thing is certain: we can see the signs that point to this all happening on the horizon. And Jesus said, “So, you too, when you see all these things, recognize that He is near, right at the door” (Matthew 24:33). Jesus is coming again! The question is, are you ready?

The Most Important Thing!

One final note. I want to thank you for taking the time to read this message. These are just my thoughts for you to consider. Ultimately, we will have to wait and see how God works it all out. But the most important thing is, if you don’t think you are ready for the Lord’s return and you don’t want to go through what is coming, not to mention being eternally separated from God, please put your faith and trust in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and you will be saved. Do it today! “For whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved” (Romans 10:13). He is the only hope we have. God bless!

RAPTURE IN 2025? Could this be the year?

“For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words.” – 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18

Over the years, many people have speculated as to when the rapture of the church may occur. Some believe the rapture could come on the Feast of Trumpets, making note of the “trumpet call of God” in First Thessalonians 4:16 and beginning the fulfillment of the final 3 Feasts of God. Others believe that the Feast of Trumpets could mark the day of the return of Jesus for the Battle of Armageddon at the end of the 7-year Tribulation.

If that were to happen in the fall of 2032, that is 7 years from 2025. To be more exact, the Feast of Trumpets 2032 falls on September 6th. If you subtract 2520 days from September 6, 2032 (7 Jewish years of 360 days, or two periods of 1260 days for the Tribulation), you land on October 13, 2025. October 13th just happens to be the last day of the Feast of Tabernacles, which is the last of the 7 biblical feasts of 2025.

Many believe the 7-year Tribulation will begin with the signing of a “covenant with many for one week,” or 7 years, in Daniel 9:27. Could the end of the 7 biblical feasts in October of 2025 be the beginning of the 7-year “time of Jacob’s Trouble” (Jeremiah 30:7)?

PASSOVER?

As a side note, using October 13th for the start of the 7-year Tribulation and subtracting 180 days (or 6 Jewish months), you land on April 16th of 2025, this year. This happens to be the Wednesday of Passover week. That is the day that some believe Jesus was crucified in order for Him to rise after 3 days and nights in the tomb, fulfilling the Scriptures.

But why is 6 months in conjunction with the 7 years of Tribulation worth noting?

Here’s why. Before King David ruled over all of Israel, he ruled as king over Judah from Hebron for 7 years and 6 months! One of the meanings of the name Hebron is “friendship.” Is it possible Jesus will call His “friends” (those who have believed in His death, burial, and resurrection for their sins) during Passover to come and be with Him for 7 years and 6 months before we all return with Him to reign in Jerusalem?

Passover 2025 could be a very plausible time for the rapture.

PENTECOST?

And if not during Passover, the Feast of Weeks (or Pentecost) could be a very good time for the catching up of the Lord’s church. Many will point to the Day of Pentecost as when the Holy Spirit arrived to live in the hearts of believers, and the age of grace, or the Church Age, began. Could the Day of Pentecost, June 8, 2025, be the day the Holy Spirit departs from the earth, taking all who have put their faith and trust in Jesus to be “caught up” with Him in the clouds?

Yes, Pentecost 2025 could be a very plausible time for the rapture. We will just have to wait and see.

And here are some other fun facts to ponder! Keep in mind that the number 7 in the Bible symbolizes completeness, perfection, and divine wholeness. It appears in Scripture over 700 times.

  • The nation of Israel turns 77 on May 14, 2025. Seven years later, it will turn 84.
  • 77 can be broken down into 11 periods of 7 years. The number 11 in the Bible is the number that represents imperfection, disorder, incompleteness, and not being aligned with divine purpose.
  • 84 can be broken into 12 periods of 7 years. The number 12 represents perfect government, and along with the number 7, also divine order, completeness, and the totality of God’s purpose.

Could 2025, after 11 seven-year periods, be the beginning of 7 years of disorder, trials, and tribulation for Israel and the world? All leading to the end of the 12th seven-year block of time, Israel’s 84th year, and the beginning of the divine order and perfect government of Jesus Christ as the King of kings, ruling over the whole world?

So is it only a coincidence that in the Temple there were 12 loaves of bread on the Table of Showbread and 7 lamps on the Golden Lampstand? 12 X 7 = 84.

And when Jesus fed the 5,000, there were 12 baskets of food left, and when He fed the 4,000, there were 7 baskets left. 12 x 7 = 84. Jesus even made special note of this to His disciples in Mark 8:19-20.

What about when Anna, the prophetess, saw the baby Jesus in the Temple? She was 84.

And if you multiply the 12 tribes of Israel with the 7 churches in Revelation 2 & 3? Yep, 84!

Another interesting note: if you look up the projected life expectancy for people who live in Israel, that age in 2032, when Israel celebrates its 84th anniversary, is 84.7 years!

One last oddity. Those who study languages know that in the Hebrew language, each of the 22 letters of the alphabet also has a numerical value. For instance, in Hebrew, the name Adam has a numerical value of 45. If you take the first “Adam,” who brought the curse of sin into the world, and the last “Adam,” Jesus (1 Corinthians 15:45), who ends the curse as our atonement for sin, and multiply their numbers, 45 X 45, it equals 2025!

THE TIME IS NEAR

So could 2025 be the year? I think we’d have to say it is very plausible. Jesus said only the Father knows the day or the hour, and regardless of what that may really mean, He didn’t say anything about not knowing the year, or for that matter, the month or the week. And we do know Jesus told us that, among other things, “there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring” (Luke 21:25), and that “when you see these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.” (Luke 21:28).

But even if 2025 is not the year of the Lord’s return, one thing we can know for sure is the promise Jesus gave to His disciples and to all who have trusted in Him as their Savior. “In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.” – John 14:2-3

I pray you have placed your belief in the only One who shed His blood for all your sins and received His gift of eternal life by faith in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. If you have, I look forward to seeing you in the air! God bless!

TODAY’S U.N.C.L.E. MISSION REMINDER – 05.03.2023.

We are one day closer to the coming of the only One who can truly save us, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! Keep looking up!

“For we say this to you by a revelation from the Lord: We who are still alive at the Lord’s coming will certainly have no advantage over those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the archangel’s voice, and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are still alive will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air and so we will always be with the Lord. Therefore encourage one another with these words.” – 1 Thessalonians 4:15-18

With all the distressing things going on in the world, I pray this passage is an encouragement to you! The Lord said what we are seeing would happen. However, He is coming to save us! He has promised there WILL BE a catching away of believers to save us from what is coming upon the world! So, “look up, for your redemption is drawing near!” (Luke 21:28).

Lord, grant us boldness to share the Good News with others as we wait for Your promised return, and help us to keep our eyes and ears open as we serve You on our Mission every day! God bless you all!
