RAPTURE IN 2025? Could this be the year?

“For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words.” – 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18

Over the years, many people have speculated as to when the rapture of the church may occur. Some believe the rapture could come on the Feast of Trumpets, making note of the “trumpet call of God” in First Thessalonians 4:16 and beginning the fulfillment of the final 3 Feasts of God. Others believe that the Feast of Trumpets could mark the day of the return of Jesus for the Battle of Armageddon at the end of the 7-year Tribulation.

If that were to happen in the fall of 2032, that is 7 years from 2025. To be more exact, the Feast of Trumpets 2032 falls on September 6th. If you subtract 2520 days from September 6, 2032 (7 Jewish years of 360 days, or two periods of 1260 days for the Tribulation), you land on October 13, 2025. October 13th just happens to be the last day of the Feast of Tabernacles, which is the last of the 7 biblical feasts of 2025.

Many believe the 7-year Tribulation will begin with the signing of a “covenant with many for one week,” or 7 years, in Daniel 9:27. Could the end of the 7 biblical feasts in October of 2025 be the beginning of the 7-year “time of Jacob’s Trouble” (Jeremiah 30:7)?

PASSOVER?

As a side note, using October 13th for the start of the 7-year Tribulation and subtracting 180 days (or 6 Jewish months), you land on April 16th of 2025, this year. This happens to be the Wednesday of Passover week. That is the day that some believe Jesus was crucified in order for Him to rise after 3 days and nights in the tomb, fulfilling the Scriptures.

But why is 6 months in conjunction with the 7 years of Tribulation worth noting?

Here’s why. Before King David ruled over all of Israel, he ruled as king over Judah from Hebron for 7 years and 6 months! One of the meanings of the name Hebron is “friendship.” Is it possible Jesus will call His “friends” (those who have believed in His death, burial, and resurrection for their sins) during Passover to come and be with Him for 7 years and 6 months before we all return with Him to reign in Jerusalem?

Passover 2025 could be a very plausible time for the rapture.

PENTECOST?

And if not during Passover, the Feast of Weeks (or Pentecost) could be a very good time for the catching up of the Lord’s church. Many will point to the Day of Pentecost as when the Holy Spirit arrived to live in the hearts of believers, and the age of grace, or the Church Age, began. Could the Day of Pentecost, June 8, 2025, be the day the Holy Spirit departs from the earth, taking all who have put their faith and trust in Jesus to be “caught up” with Him in the clouds?

Yes, Pentecost 2025 could be a very plausible time for the rapture. We will just have to wait and see.

And here are some other fun facts to ponder! Keep in mind that the number 7 in the Bible symbolizes completeness, perfection, and divine wholeness. It appears in Scripture over 700 times.

  • The nation of Israel turns 77 on May 14, 2025. Seven years later, it will turn 84.
  • 77 can be broken down into 11 periods of 7 years. The number 11 in the Bible is the number that represents imperfection, disorder, incompleteness, and not being aligned with divine purpose.
  • 84 can be broken into 12 periods of 7 years. The number 12 represents perfect government, and along with the number 7, also divine order, completeness, and the totality of God’s purpose.

Could 2025, after 11 seven-year periods, be the beginning of 7 years of disorder, trials, and tribulation for Israel and the world? All leading to the end of the 12th seven-year block of time, Israel’s 84th year, and the beginning of the divine order and perfect government of Jesus Christ as the King of kings, ruling over the whole world?

So is it only a coincidence that in the Temple there were 12 loaves of bread on the Table of Showbread and 7 lamps on the Golden Lampstand? 12 X 7 = 84.

And when Jesus fed the 5,000, there were 12 baskets of food left, and when He fed the 4,000, there were 7 baskets left. 12 x 7 = 84. Jesus even made special note of this to His disciples in Mark 8:19-20.

What about when Anna, the prophetess, saw the baby Jesus in the Temple? She was 84.

And if you multiply the 12 tribes of Israel with the 7 churches in Revelation 2 & 3? Yep, 84!

Another interesting note: if you look up the projected life expectancy for people who live in Israel, that age in 2032, when Israel celebrates its 84th anniversary, is 84.7 years!

One last oddity. Those who study languages know that in the Hebrew language, each of the 22 letters of the alphabet also has a numerical value. For instance, in Hebrew, the name Adam has a numerical value of 45. If you take the first “Adam,” who brought the curse of sin into the world, and the last “Adam,” Jesus (1 Corinthians 15:45), who ends the curse as our atonement for sin, and multiply their numbers, 45 X 45, it equals 2025!

THE TIME IS NEAR

So could 2025 be the year? I think we’d have to say it is very plausible. Jesus said only the Father knows the day or the hour, and regardless of what that may really mean, He didn’t say anything about not knowing the year, or for that matter, the month or the week. And we do know Jesus told us that, among other things, “there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring” (Luke 21:25), and that “when you see these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.” (Luke 21:28).

But even if 2025 is not the year of the Lord’s return, one thing we can know for sure is the promise Jesus gave to His disciples and to all who have trusted in Him as their Savior. “In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.” – John 14:2-3

I pray you have placed your belief in the only One who shed His blood for all your sins and received His gift of eternal life by faith in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. If you have, I look forward to seeing you in the air! God bless!
