“But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet.” – 1 Thessalonians 5:8
Although the breastplate was the piece of armor that protected the heart and other vital organs in the body, and the helmet was worn to protect the head, they also had another feature about them. They were also items that were obviously SEEN once they were put on. Jesus said, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:16). Expressing the love of God toward others, and sharing the hope of our salvation in Jesus, are ways we can show our faith in the Lord and prove “we belong to the day”. Let’s not forget to put on these important pieces of armor each day as we ask the Lord to use us to reach out to others for Him!
Lord, help us to always be prepared for every opportunity to share the faith, love and hope You have given us, on our Mission every day! God bless you all!

“Since ancient times no one has heard, no ear has perceived, no eye has seen any God besides you, who acts on behalf of those who wait for him.” – Isaiah 64:4
Waiting certainly isn’t easy, especially in these disturbing days. But we must never forget that, no matter what, God is faithfully acting on our behalf. God’s Word is filled with examples, “since ancient times”, of this principle from which we can receive hope and encouragement. Jesus said, “I am going away to prepare a place for you. If I go away and prepare a place for you, I will come back and receive you to Myself, so that where I am you may be also” (John 14:2–3). Although The Lord said this almost 2,000 years ago, He IS coming again, and it will be well worth the wait! “Behold, I am coming soon, and My reward is with Me, to give to each one according to what he has done.” – Revelation 22:12
Lord, thank You for the promise of Your soon return, and as we wait, fill us with hope and encouragement through Your Word, as we serve You on our Mission every day! God bless you all!

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 4:6-7
This wonderful passage from the apostle Paul may be one of the most comforting in all of Scripture. We all want the peace God can bring when we are going through anxious situations, as many are going through today. I’m also quite certain most of us would say this admonition is easier said than done. I guess I can go along with that. But we need to remember that going to God with our requests isn’t simply a “doing” thing, it’s a THINKING thing. No, not about the situation that is causing us to be anxious, but “thinking” about the one we are bringing our request to. The Lord is the one who can bring about the transformation in our minds. We just need to focus our thinking on what He wants, and if you are wondering, He makes that clear in the very next verses.
“Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—THINK about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.” – Philippians 4:8-9 [Emphasis added]
May we always remember to bring our prayers and requests to God in all situations, and take time to truly think about Who we are bringing them to, and give Him thanks!
Lord, help us to think about things that will bring You praise and transform our lives as we serve You on our Mission every day! God bless you all!

“He is the one we proclaim, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone fully mature in Christ. To this end I strenuously contend with all the energy Christ so powerfully works in me.” – Colossians 1:28-29
Did you notice how Paul uses the word “we” as he starts his objective for the church, and then directs it back to himself by saying, “I”? As God’s Word clearly states, all who are in the church have the responsibility to help build up the body (we) as each one of us (I) uses the gifts He has given us, working to help “present everyone fully mature in Christ”. May we be like Paul, using all the energy the Lord gives each of us to do the work He has given us until He returns!
Lord, we pray for Your Spirit to give us the strength and desire to do the work You have given us on our Mission, every day! God bless you all!
We are one day closer to the coming of the One who has called us to heaven, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! Keep looking up!
“Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 3:12-14
My dear brothers and sisters, please know that God is not finished with us yet, no matter what we may be going through. Paul knew this truth all too well, and he was adamant about reaching the goal to which our Lord called him, straining and pressing on to win the prize. It certainly is not easy living the Christian life, but remember, the glory of heaven is our destination. So let’s stay focused on the goal and keep pressing on “toward what is ahead”, trusting that the Lord is giving us all some very interesting stories to tell when we get to heaven. I look forward to hearing yours, hopefully soon!
Lord, give us the determination and strength to press on toward the goal You have set for us on our Mission every day for Your glory! God bless you all!
We are one day closer to the coming of the only One who can truly save us, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! Keep looking up!
“For we say this to you by a revelation from the Lord: We who are still alive at the Lord’s coming will certainly have no advantage over those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the archangel’s voice, and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are still alive will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air and so we will always be with the Lord. Therefore encourage one another with these words.” – 1 Thessalonians 4:15-18
With all the distressing things going on in the world, I pray this passage is an encouragement to you! The Lord said what we are seeing would happen. However, He is coming to save us! He has promised there WILL BE a catching away of believers to save us from what is coming upon the world! So, “look up, for your redemption is drawing near!” (Luke 21:28).
Lord, grant us boldness to share the Good News with others as we wait for Your promised return, and help us to keep our eyes and ears open as we serve You on our Mission every day! God bless you all!

Many people believe they must supplement the finished work of Christ’s death on the cross with some work of their own. But there is no good deed or religious ritual we can add to what only He could do. “He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy” (Titus 3:5). The beginning and the end of our salvation story was completed by Jesus, and there is nothing we can add to it. “For by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy” (Hebrews 10:14). Let’s be thankful for all that Jesus has done, and tell others of the perfect sacrifice He gave to save us.
Lord, grant us wisdom and boldness to tell others of Your mercy and love on our Mission today, and every day! God bless you all!

Have you ever heard the expression, “In one ear, and out the other!”? In our fast-paced world we live in, people hardly have time to listen to anything. But there is one thing we need to make sure we don’t neglect; being careful to “listen” to the Lord. Don’t let the enemy steal that from you. And remember, it’s not how much you get into His Word, it’s how much of His Word gets into YOU!

“As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving” (Colossians 2:6).
With everything that is happening in our world, and all the holiday festivities ramping up, it might be easy to forget all we have to be thankful for.
As we get caught up in all the activities we engage in, we often take the basic everyday blessings of life for granted. Thus, we need to be reminded that the Bible shows us at least three basic reasons for which to give thanks.
First, we can be thankful for God’s grace.
“We know that the one who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead will also raise us with Jesus and present us with you to himself. All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God” (2 Corinthians 4:14-15). God has forgiven us because Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins, and we have received the promise of eternal life, all because of His grace.
Then there are God’s gifts.
“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights” (James 1:17). Every natural ability, our personalities, our character, are put into us by God’s own design. “His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness” (2 Peter 1:3).
Finally, there is God’s goodness.
From this source comes the sunshine and rain, food and clothing, our health and life itself. “What shall I render to the Lord for all His benefits toward me?” “I will offer to You the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of the Lord” (Psalm 116:12; 17).
This Thanksgiving, let’s call upon the name of the Lord, and tell Him how thankful we are for every one of His rich blessings.“Always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ” (Ephesians 5:20).
This very special Wedding Celebration is for Jesus Christ and those who believe and trust in Him. And YOU are invited!
“Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!” – Revelation 19:9
Why have I been invited to this?
Because God, in His great love, actually desires to see everyone at this special occasion! And He has extended this invitation to all the people in the world, and that includes YOU!
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that WHOEVER believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God didn’t send his Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through him.” – John 3:16-17
“Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.” – John 1:12
“For you are saved by grace through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is God’s gift, not from works, so that no one can boast.” – Ephesians 2:8-9
By believing in Jesus, He reserves a special place for you in His Father’s house where all the celebration will begin!
“In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if not, I would have told you. I am going away to prepare a place for you. If I go away and prepare a place for you, I will come back and receive you to Myself, so that where I am you may be also.”– John 14:2-3
“I bestow on you a kingdom, just as My Father bestowed one on Me, so that you may eat and drink at My table in My kingdom.” – Luke 22:29-30
Can I be sure this is true? Yes! You can trust the One who loves you, and gave His life for you. God’s word tells us:
“But God proves His own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us!” – Romans 5:8
“I have written these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life.” – 1 John 5:13
Why is this important? Because it’s the only way to be saved from the penalty of our sin. And sadly, there are people who will not reserve their place by responding to the invitation, because they simply don’t believe it.
“Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.” – Acts 12:4
“Anyone who believes in Him is not condemned, but anyone who does not believe is already condemned, because he has not believed in the name of the One and Only Son of God.”– John 3:18
“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” – Romans 6:23
How can I return my R.S.V.P.?

By believing and trusting in the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross for the forgiveness of all your sins, and His resurrection from the dead, proving He is our Lord and Savior.
